A designated staff person within the Specialized Docket Department manages all the forensic mental health cases for the Franklin County Municipal Court. Staff members function as a liaison between the Court and the jail’s mental health staff, community providers, OhioMHAS facilities, the contracted evaluator, and the legal parties assigned to the case.
The duties include administrative management of competency evaluations, Probate Court commitment referrals, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) proceedings, and oversight of competency restoration proceedings.
These include matters related to: Competency to Stand Trial, NGRI, Treatment in Lieu of Conviction, and Psychological Risk Assessments.
