BIO

Judge Mark Hummer was first elected to the Franklin County Municipal Court in 2009 and re-elected in 2015. Judge Hummer’s previous service with the Franklin County Municipal Court includes being a Bailiff to Judge Richard Ferrell from 1986 – 1992 and then appointed as a Magistrate for the Court in 1992. He served in this capacity until elected to office in 2009. Prior to his career in public service, Judge Hummer worked for the Columbus Citizen-Journal from 1981 - 1985.

Judge Hummer graduated from Capital University Law School in 1986, from Ohio State with a B.A. in journalism in 1981, and from Watterson High School in 1976.

Reasonable continuance requests receive fair consideration. Please make requests as far ahead as possible and contact the opposing party before contacting the Court. The Court will respond to all requests as promptly and as courteously as possible.

Please cooperate in the discovery process and work toward settlement whenever possible.

Judge Hummer is willing to discuss cases in advance with the agreement of the prosecutor and the defense attorney. He will take the bench when a case is ready for disposition.
